First half of the book was easy and great to get into. Last half fell short. Similar plots/scenes kept occurring which didn’t really provide much for the story line. Didn’t really connect with any of the characters and felts the subplot love story didn’t really make it in the end.

A cute and engaging adventure! I listened to it in one sitting on a long drive and it kept me entertained the entire time. Reminiscent of Atlantis or Treasure Planet with a slow burn rivals to lovers romance like Anastasia. I liked the setting as well as the vulnerability/emotion of the MMC, but didn’t necessarily love the repeated damsel in distress trope. In any case - can’t wait for book 2!

It was alright, written in the way that a Disney animated movie would be written which is fun but I don’t know if it works in a book. The world and plot was cool but felt quite underwhelming. I had a hard time connecting with the characters but it was easy to feel like I was in the world.
