A beautiful and addictive read, i adored Elenor and her internal monologues, and found myself both laughing and crying at times. I wish i could read it again for the first time. The only thing i would say is the pacing is a little slow at times, but stick with it, her story is worth it.

A very smooth read, quite gripping, didn't take too long

Pros:
- the writing flowed nicely and made it easy to read. The dialogue always felt realistic and the story carried along nicely.
- it also had quite an original premise which was executed well and I got caught up in seeing how it would all turn out.
and I'm glad it turned out well

- the side characters, Raymond, Laura, Bob, etc. were all well developed and made it feel like a little slice of life.

Cons:
- Didn't really love Eleanor (though the name didn't help) and while feeling vaguely bad for her, i definitely didn't 'sob and sob' like the one reviewer did. Some bits did hit too hard and just made me feel bad. The tone really reminded me of 'A man called Ove' and it was given to me by the same person. Unfortunately I don't think I'm a massive fan of this type of book really - the reality is too painful for me, too personal.

So I think my main disappoint was that I didn't feel much for the book and I won't be reading it again I'm afraid, though it was good for a break after the complicated 'Ninth house' book.

I don't think I was prepared for the emotions of this book. Equally hilarious, heartwarming and heartbreaking, Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine was an emotional rollercoaster but utterly charming.
I really enjoyed this book and the characters were brilliant. Eleanor's growth and discovery of herself throughout the book is brilliantly developed and considerately written by Gail Honeyman. There are some really devastatingly sad moments in this book. Horrific moments with devastating consequences. But there is also beauty and warmth too and that shines out of the pages in abundance. Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine is a story of being human; of the worst of people and the best of people and how even in the darkest, most desperate moments, there is hope and a future.

Eleanor Oliphant is one of the most unique characters in fiction and I am totally in love with everything about her and her growth. The twist ending of this book took me completely by surprise and I never would have expected it. This book has so much smart humor, mostly in Eleanor’s comments/narrations. The darker moments are hard to get through but overall you feel so much for the characters in this book. The development is off the charts. This one of my favorite books of all time. Also seeing someone whose brain works like mine narrating a book was so gratifying.

This book was absolutely incredible. It made me feel so many things. I cannot even begin to express how much this book impacted me. It’s a story that I am so glad I read. It was heartbreaking and heartwarming all at once. Loneliness was a big theme in this book, yet reading it, I felt the opposite of alone. This story is one I’ll always remember and will forever be important to me.

I really didn’t think I was going to enjoy the book for the first quarter of it. With an extremely unreliable narrator and a plot that didn’t seem to be driving anywhere and a cast of characters that was just all over the map, it just felt too quirky, but I’m so glad I stuck with it. The book is heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. And, while never near and tidy, leaves you with hope even against a backdrop that is positively bleak. 4.25 stars
