I’m kind of sick of rafe

I’m always crying at the end of these books!!!! God I can’t help fall in love with the characters Pearson is a phenomenal writer! I gave this four stars only because it was too much world building and that’s not my jam. It was helpful to understand how the world of Venda worked but I also don’t mind just reading about Rafe Kaden and Lia they’re just such awesomely written characters

The way Pearson has all these big reveals! also she writes amazing enemies and powerful women

If it wasn't for adulting (lol) I would have finished this book long ago . I did enjoy reading this book and continuing on with the story . The ending of this book has me wanting to pick up the 3rd and finale book immediately . I would love to take my time with this trilogy and try to savor as much as I can before finally finishing it . But it's so good that I MUST pick up the next one !

Spoilers ****

I loved meeting and getting to know a bit more about Rafe's soldiers ( all 4 of them lol )
I'm excited to see more of them in the next book .
I had predicted that Lia was going to end up staying in Venda & having her dream of Rafe leaving alone come to fruition. I am happy that didn't happen ! Even though they have a lot to work through , I'm happy they are together . Without the immediate looming threat of everyone else .

Probably 4.5 stars - I liked this one much better than the first book. It had a better pace and sense of urgency/action. Now I’m just curious to see how the third book plays out after the events at the end of this one…

the beginning had intrigued me, but then nothing happened and oh..ok..

I just wasn’t blown away like I was with the first in this series. I’m glad to continue and finish the series, but this one really suffered from middle trilogy syndrome
