I have been reading this book for 84 years.
I did enjoy The Heart of Betrayal, but it took me for.ev.er. to get through. I’m not sure if the book was slow, or if I just haven’t had time to read lately. :/

I was so sure I'd like this one better than the first … instead I realised somewhere halfway through that I simply do not like any of these characters very much. welp.

The pacing just feels off and the story and characters just don’t hit. If I read this 10 years ago, I would have loved it

I loved every page. I'm glad I gave myself time after reading the first book... it all settled down the right way and I enjoyed the second book much more because of that.
In my opinion, the second book is even better than the first one and that's saying a lot since I love The Kiss of Deception so much. Now I'll give myself some time before I'll read the third book ( part of the reason is that since I bought the paperback edition of the first and second books, I have to wait for the third one in a paperback too). But I really want the plot to settle down the way it settled after The Kiss of Deception so it's alright to wait for it.
The last thing I want to say is..... I really love Kaden. No comment.
