50yrs after the books release the book was spoken about sooooo often i felt i had to read it. so i was suprised the book was so 'laid back' in the writing sense 'use of colloquial language', also quite an easy topic to empathise with as an young teen. so a good honest read.

Quite a nice but depressing read. Definitely portrays the aching pain of the loss of innocence in adolescence. Quite fitting for my current place in life.

I wish this was a book I'd studied in school because I feel like there's so much going on here. I usually struggle with classics because the narrative voice can often be too bland for me but this one was so unique and I found Holden so funny at times.

Genuinely wasn't expecting this book to make me sob but here we are. I felt so bad for him!
The image of Phoebe on the carousel at the end with Holden finally being happy was so moving and it really got me, I'll probably remember that the clearest whenever I think of this book.
