j’ai beaucoup aimer ce livre, les personnages sont très attachants et cest une lecture facile rapide et agréable. par contre du niveau histoire j’ai préféré le premier tome que celui ci, j’ai trouver qu’il y avait un peu plus d’action dans le premier, mais le deuxième était quand même génial!
This is an opposite copy of "If only it were true". To me, it almost feels the same like the other. It only feels extremely great if we only read one of those two. Cause whether which one we read first, the other gonna feel boring and less interesting.

Once again we have people who can't have a normal exchange of 2 sentences (and believe me I always say that normalcy is a fallacy). I mean two fricking sentences in a dialogue. It seems as though every character is an aspiring philosopher-poet-comedian. It's a fusion restaurant over here, people!!
We also have this cast of supporting characters who get more wasted screen time on them than in the first book. And for what? Nobody cares about them!
The beginning of the book was weak and boring. How can you start the sequel like that? Especially after that ending. And then we find out how abhorrent a couple of these characters have been acting, again, for around 2 years?? Great.
The writing, at least, improved in being less fastidious. Someone must've told old Levy so much narration of dialogues doesn't work, gets confusing and, honestly in my personal taste, the way he did it wasn't organic in the least. Or maybe it's the fact it was a Portuguese translation. Who knows? Not me; I won't be wasting time rereading them in French.

Paul (...) se disfarçara de enfermeiro e Arthur de médico para levar (..) o corpo de uma jovem mulher em coma que queriam desligar dos aparelhos que a mantinham viva.
Now in English: Paul (...) disguised himself as a nurse and Arthur as a doctor to take away (...) the body of a young woman in a coma whose machines keeping her alive they wanted to turn off.
Now the whole premise of If Only It Were True/ Just Like Heaven/ E Se Fosse Verdade... is that Lauren is autonomous, she explains so herself, and hence why Arthur is able to care for her body so easily, when the doctors convince her mother to authorise an euthanasia:
- (...) a minha mãe estava lá. Convenceram-na a levar a cabo uma eutanásia. (...) Sou autónoma, é esse todo o problema deles, senão teriam apenas de desligar o aparelho. Em resumo, é mais ou menos isso.
She was being fed through tubes, obviously -and tells Arthur preparing those liquids isn't difficult -, receiving antibiotics as a precaution. She was washed and massaged, her vitals and temperature checked. No artificial breathing machine. Hence why the quote about Paul is incorrect, and why if Lauren's mother really wanted to, she could've taken her home and hired a nurse, if she really wanted to and could stomach it.
