The first 200 pages is reeeeeeaally slow, but I still understand why Stephen King loves this book. It's intimate, beautiful and actually made me feel disgusted in certain parts.

Liked the beginning, before Jim Dooley was introduced into the story, and I liked the end, after he'd been gotten rid of. Could have done without the middle section where another Stephen King character outwits a crazy, scary killer/monster/whatever. They say Raymond Chandler introduced a gun into his stories whenever he couldn't figure out where they should go next; I guess Stephen King throws in psychopaths.

More of a two and half star read, I really didn't enjoy this one much. The style of writing didn't draw me in - I don't know why, I normally find Stephen King really accessible. Didn't like the story much either, but I guess you can't please everyone all the time. This one just wasn't for me.

Usually I love Stephen king books or enjoy them but this was boring and dragging on. I knew when I didn’t care about the main characters that it was time to move on.
Sorry king, but I will continue to read your work.

I might come back to this later, but for now I don't have the brain power for this writing style. It's written in a way that you, as the reader, remember details of memories at the same time as the main character and it skips around and repeats a lot. Not ideal if you're trying to relax after working on your thesis all day.
