I’ve just finished listening to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, read by Stephen Fry — and it’s safe to say the audiobook experience adds a whole new layer to the story.

Stephen Fry is, as always, a fantastic narrator. His character voices are spot-on, and he brings so much warmth and clarity to even the most intense scenes. You can really feel the emotion in some of the quieter moments, which hit even harder in audio.

As for the story — it’s one of the darker and more complex books in the series. Harry’s anger and frustration are front and centre, and while it can be a bit much at times, it does feel true to what he’s been through.

The middle section does feel a little slow in places, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5. But the final few chapters? Utterly gripping. The tension, the heartbreak, the shift in the wizarding world — it’s all there.

Overall, a brilliant listen. If you’ve never tried the series in audio form, this is definitely worth a go — especially with Fry’s narration bringing it all to life so effortlessly

oh i love this book. from the beginning it keeps you intrigued and delivers until the end. some characters (Dumbledore) need to die already while other characters (harry and sirius) deserved better.
