The amount of angst and tension made this book hard to digest in my first read; I saw the world from Harry’s eyes and felt just as frustrated for the lack of answers. Rereading the series as an adult, I understand wholeheartedly why he was kept in the dark.

I really need to say that this is one of my favourite books in the series so far, along with Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban. Yes, I also enjoyed Goblet of Fire, but it's something about the book that makes me love it less than these ones.
Spoiler Maybe Cedric's death? I dunno. But it messed me up pretty hard.

One of the things that I LOVED about this book was, guess what: the angst. Harry's angst, to be more precise. I heard many people didn't like that certain thing, but I loved it. It's showing us what Harry is going through, isn't it? He had grown up, he is a teenager, of course he will be angsty. And this is showing us that he is human and he has feelings, and even people like him [who are seen as courageous heroes] have moments of great weakness, when they do not feel like acting or being like themselves anymore.
One of the things that I HATED about this book was, guess what [again]: Dumbridge. Uh, I mean Umbitch. No, not this either. Umbridge. That's it. Gosh, that cruel woman. Who doesn't hate her? She was the worst. Someone should have forced her to kiss a Dementor, but I guess it would have nothing to suck out of her body, since she obviously lacks a soul.
Finally, this book was one big rollercoaster. Yes, it messed up with my feelings. But I loved it. And I cried, because another great character was taken away from us.
Spoiler Yes, I am talking about Sirius. I just can't believe he's gone [even though I was already spoiled about that by Tumblr]. It just hurt me to know that Harry won't be able to ever see his godfather. After all he's gone through, and Sirius couldn't enjoy a well-deserved and peaceful life before he died... He didn't even get to spend a lot of time with Harry... *sigh* It is very sad, and it hurts me to know that he is gone, with no chance of coming back...

the way harry could have used the mirror that sirius gave him to check whether he was at grimmauld place is actually painful.
fuck cho chang and fuck harry's temper tantrums.

Loved this book so much. Very long but still interesting and quite easy to read. Slow in the beginning but honestly I have that opinion when it comes to all of the hp books. It just might be my favorite of all of them even if my fav film is hbp.

I think this is my favorite book this far. The writing and descriptive language was much better. The progression of the story was not rushed and it felt more natural. We also got more in depth character development and plot points.

I chose to talk about this in a tiktok, but I fear that Dumbledore’s speech earlier in the story could have prevented Sirius death. The emotional reaction that Harry had was so natural and it has been building up the entire book.

Additionally, I heavily disliked the love plot in this book with Cho. Cho was unlikable, but I blame JK Rowling for this.  Like Harry, Cho was also dealing with grief and wanted to get closer to the person that was once close to Cedric. Harry, obviously, not having processed any events from the last few months could not reciprocate understanding and emotions (especially by how JK made Cho cry and made a joke out of it).
