Fourth in the Black Dagger Brotherhood paranormal-romance series set in upper state New York.
In 2008, Lover Revealed won the RITA Award by Romance Writers of America for Best Paranormal Romance.
My Take
Oh this is so good! I love all the comeuppance that crops up all over the place in Lover Revealed! YES!
Two of my very favorite things about this series is Ward's use of language in the brothers' dialog. It's unique and consistent. The second is the loyalty and friendship amongst them. Considering who and what they are, they are actually good role models.
Of course, I also enjoy all that testosterone and hunky description…when is some TV producer gonna discover the Brotherhood anyway!??!
The Story
Butch is at a crisis point in his life. Marissa doesn't want him. And, to be fair, he is so far out of her league…heck, he's out of the brothers' league. He can't even fight alongside them. He isn't pulling his weight. About the only skill he seems to have kept is the drinking. Lots and lots of drinking at ZeroSum, the Reverend's place. Marissa is at the same crossroads. Butch doesn't love her. Her life is empty with the aristocracy to which she belongs looking anywhere but at her, shunning her.
Until the night Butch is kidnapped, tortured, and booby-trapped. All that keeps him alive is Marissa's presence and V's hand. Even that isn't enough until the brothers discover just what has been done to Butch. Then they discover the Lesser prophecy…
The Cover
The cover continues the metallic sheen of previous covers. I do love the pose. It feels so very Butch and Marissa. Nice job!

Oh, This was fantastic, I was not really looking forward to reading about Butch. Not my favorite in past books, but boy did she pull out his charater ! Oh V !!!!! He is down right hot in this, true ? Love the tie to him and Butch, light and dark in a new way. Can't wait to read V's story.

Kindle - such an emotional train wreck Marissa and Butch have such a great relationship
can’t believe Butch is blood of wrath but makes sense why wrath made so many concessions for him in book 1. And of course the other brothers shellan’s would talk sense into Marrisa. She not the first or last to love a brother. so many years while reading this book.
