I haven’t read a book of poetry cover to cover before and this was amazing. Andrea’s writing touches your soul and makes you feel the most alive you’ve ever felt

A few of these poems were amazing (the one about the tandem bike speaking after the breakup) or, at least, one of them was, ha. A few were pretty good, or interesting (I liked Time Piece... mostly - there were three lines that made me want to pull my hair out and wonder if this was edited - and I liked the Museum of Broken Relationships but I realized I only liked the first 1/2 which is just describing ACTUAL things in the REAL museum - that's not something you can accredit to Andrea Gibson, those objects really exist and their poetry is innate; just describing them is not really much in the way of adding to that).
Then there were a bunch of "poems" that were more like... Buzzfeed headlines? Twitter hot takes? Ready-to-be-sold-on-T-Shirt bon mots?
THOSE frustrated the hell out of me.
I would have maybe given this book 3 stars, but honestly, I just think most things on Goodreads get inflated reviews, and if I'm the curmudgeonly lodestone that weighs things back down to reality, well, I'll do that.

This poetry book was stunning. I loved every single word. Certain poems I find myself going back to again and again because of how deeply I felt them and related to them.
Moderate: Panic attacks/disorders, Rape, Self harm, Sexual assault, Suicidal thoughts, Sexual violence, and Toxic relationship
