This book is great for parents and kids who already enjoy the Star Wars movies, but are simple enough for new readers/fans to understand what's going on. It introduces the characters well and explains harder concepts like the Force. This book is a great adaptation of the movie and fun for kids to read alongside parents in case there are any questions!

I admit I an adult with no kids, read this. I read books of all types and ages to always have something to recommend and my little cousin has a Star Wars collection. I think this book is a cute picture version of the movie. Admittedly not as in depth, but it is a kids book. It does its job. 5 stars.

Not a bad adaptation. My 4 yo liked it.

This entire book confused me.
Then I remembered that it's because I've never actually watched The Phantom Menace.
Oops.

If I can honestly say that the book wasn't as good as the movie, and the movie was The Phantom Menace, I think there's something wrong. And I like the prequels.
