Did not finish. Could not finish. So dull. Too many stereotypes competing for your attention and nothing compelling to make you want to soldier through another romance with dead parents and an ailing career and a misleading meet cute.

daughters of self-centred moms will love this one. did i cry? yes. did i giggle and kick my feet? yes. did i realise that i need to critically assess my relationships? Also yes.

There were parts of this book that was fun and interesting. That being the Grandmother storyline and the best friends. Other than that I just was bored and didn’t care. And I didn’t feel the connection between Ryan and Sammy.

This book really hit every mark for me. I'm a sucker for a rockstar-romance but this felt like an evolved, grown-up, queer take on it. Something about seeing Sammy Espinoza make mistakes and grow through some incredibly difficult times made me feel like I could do that too.
The romance melted my heart, the found family reminded me of all the good queerness in the world, and I loved the sprinkling of music appreciation through it all.
I'm honored to have gotten an early copy of this, and I'll be recommending it (even more than I already have) to everyone looking for a romance that packs an emotional punch. This book deserves all the hype for its release next month!
