Quick read to refresh on all things Jaime and Ian.
adventurous lighthearted

Chronologically, this is the first story in the entire Outlander saga. It's a fun buddy romp for Jamie and Ian (the elder), when they are both still very young. There is some really interesting info about Jewish culture in the 18th century here, which was the best part of the story. The humor is good as well. I always liked this friendship a lot.

While it was enjoyable to spend time with young Jamie before Outlander, and the details of Jewish life in the 18th century were interesting, this story just seemed a bit over the top. Ah well.

So good! I wish it were a full text (so fascinating to see Jamie and Ian in their youth after cherishing them in the Outlander novels)

'Part six of giving authors a second chance' (3/5 worth it so far) and 'Part one of reading all 22 stories set in the Outlander world (In chronological order)'

Really calling Jamie out with the title there huh. (Ngl there was some real 'Yikes'...scenes, but. still.)

Mid. Not feeling optimistic for the start of the series.
