Virgins

Little did I know the book I was holding was actually only half as long as it looked because the second half of the book is just the first chapter of Outlander. Which gives you a sense of how long the story of Virgins actually is. It was a fun little novella, but I didn't find it enlightening in anyway really.

It was nice to read about Jamie and Ian before everything else.

i might need to revisit this after reading a few Outlander books. this was confusing to start off with, but i would definitely reread after getting more context.

I read this book after Outlander, book 1. I think this was a good spot to read it.

It was fairly lighthearted, super short, and pretty decent. I think you should read it for context of the characters and whatnot, but it’s not a book that will be profound and change your life or anything.

Good for additional info as I work on re-reading the series, but not sure it was entirely necessary.

A fine, short prequel adventure of Jamie and Ian. Nothing to write home about but short and somewhat enjoyable if you’ve read Outlander. The depictions of sexual assault and violence are still jarring, but it is in line with the writing and story.

I enjoyed this book. It was a quick read and satisfied the droughtlander that I’m in. It was nice to see the relationship of Jamie and Ian. It was also interesting to see Jamie in the days following his flogging. With all that said, it wasn’t one that I was dying to read every chance I got but it kept my attention. A three star rating it is.
