2.5 stars. This was a little difficult for me. It’s my first Outlander book, and as I’m not yet familiar with the story or characters I’m hoping I get more invested as the series progresses. I also wasn’t crazy about the writing style and found the dialogue hard to read (just my preference). Again, hoping I’m able to keep up with the series.

This was a good quick read. And it fit a challenge peomot, so it's a win-win.

It gave us a little bit of insight on Jamie and Ian's friendship before everything that led to Jamie and Claire meeting.

Honestly compared with the rest of the Outlander series, I found this novella to be rather unimpressive. Although I've loved listening to the audiobooks and this one had a different narrator, so that could have had an impact.
