This book is small, but jam-packed with wisdom. While you could probably read it in an hour or two, I highly recommend spreading it out a bit, so as to let each chapter sink in.

Prepare Yourself

This was an amazing book on the theological background to know when reading the Bible.

An excelent way to prepare yourself for reading.
I am actually working on doing a full read of the Bible in YouVersion by only using plans. I am currently on Luke!

It has been a great few months!

A simple book, but filled with richness. I bought this book last year due to seeing it around social media. I realized the cost of it was fairly cheap. Which makes sense since according to kindle is says about an hour to read. It took me 3 days, but that’s because I’m usually read more than one book at a time.

I truly enjoyed this book. It helped in areas that I needed awareness in. It reminded me the importance of being rooted in Jesus, but also community purpose too. That was the huge part for me.

Tears filled my eyes during the part about his friend James from overseas. Watching an old movie that may seem cheesy, but transformed his friends life. It helped me to remember that the Word of God does the talking. I’m an instrument for the Lord. I don’t have to be embarrassed by cheesy things when the Lord is at work.

This is a very short little book but it was a great reminder about how to approach the Bible with worship as our goal. If the Bible has felt stale and dry then this book can help teach or remind you about how life giving it is.

I really love this book! It’s a short read yet very rich and best of all it’s left me loving and hungering for the Bible more.

Whether new believer or veteran saint, this book is a welcome reminder that, in every season, God wants us to approach his Word with the right heart posture. In short, we’re to be humble, contrite in spirit, trembling at his Word (Isa. 66:2). Read this brief book and recalibrate your soul.

A short and sweet book that walks through 9 ways to ready your heart before opening the Word. At the end, Matt says, “Approaching your Bible well, therefore, is nothing less than an act of worship.” All 9 of these postures tell the “how” of the approach. They are not just ways Matt has identified, but rather he shares how the Word itself tells us to approach it in this way. Matt writes as one whose love for God and His Word shows easily, but you can also hear his love for the reader as well, and this makes this an engaging read.
