I keep thinking about this book even after having finished it. It both is and isn't an epic romance novel. It both is and isn't a horror, post apocalyptic, strange story. The FMC is annoying, with one focus to end the war. The MMC is also annoying, steadfast in his beliefs that doing so would destroy everything he worked hard to achieve. They are both damaged characters seeking something from each other. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone, because I don't think anyone I know would understand why I keep thinking about it. So I can't give it more than 3.75☆. But if it sounds interesting to you? I say give it a try.

This book bothered me, lots. Still had to finish it, thought parts were truly amazing but the end kind of predictable

SPOILERS: (she had to die in order to live forever, right?)
The immorality, the depravity, I haven't read this type of book before and it fit really well with the story but was shocking. Some editing to clarify would have been good, like when He had a servant come and "finish him off", I couldn't help but re-read that section in order to understand if he even enjoyed it! There was nothing to indicate why he did that, other than for shock value to the heroine (and reader).
The sex was well described, believable, but I didn't feel that connection with the hero, I was too mad at him for his indiscretions. Apparently I have issues. I really liked the banter, but if you read this long dark tale, plan on reading some fun fluff afterwards to lighten your mood!

I tried twice, I really did. Fellow lovers of dark romance have raved about this author but goodness was I bored.

The story just felt slow, plodding and as though it was going nowhere. At times it felt as though the writer was trying to be very clever and artsy in their dialogues and descriptions but if I have to re-read passages to actually understand and follow them then I'm out.

I didn't get that far, since this is a very long book, but it felt like forever. The pace is very slow and I felt as though parts of this could have been cut out without affecting the flow or understanding of the story.

Oh my god - i am out of words. The writing, the characters, the development of the story and most the dialogues between the characters … i have no words. Infinity stars for this masterpiece. Made me ugly cry several times but it was worth it!

Edit after 5 hours: i am still sobbing and cannot stop thinking about this book. If i tell you that was one of the most unique read i‘ve ever had please believe me! If you like dark settings and true villain mmcs with an epic love, so deep - that it will survive EVERYTHING this book is for you. Don’t mind the cover, don’t get distracted by the genre. It’s somewhat of all the beautiful fairytales you can imagine with dark moments in it. I cannot express the love i have for this book from the very start (i knew in the first 20% this is something very precious) - it’s probably one of these books that will stay with me forever.

This is one of only a few books that have me feel as though I’m in mourning. During and especially afterwards.

Wanted to like it because Last hour of Gann was amazing. I feel like it just wasn’t going anymore about half way through, they were at a stalemate and I didnt really like either main characters.
