I've never read a Patterson book before but I love retellings, pastiches and the like, so the premise interested me. I'm guessing this is more Sitts writing than Patterson since they've done a few books like this that repurpose famous characters.
This book felt like it was more interested in introducing the characters than the several mysteries it set out to solve. It really just kind had a bunch of random stuff happen that were connected in the context of mysteries but it was hard to care that much. Probably won't continue with the series, but might if the mood hits me. We'll see.

This book has a lot going on and at times it was difficult to track. But overall solid story and enjoyed. I will read the sequel.

What I Did Like:
+The cozy-little-mystery vibe from this one matches what you’d expect from a Marple or Holmes adventure, and those are big shoes to fill. I appreciated that old-school vibe in a modern book.
+There is plenty of action and mystery to move this book along. It feels like every chapter is a cliffhanger and every action gives you more questions.
+This reads like an opening book in what could end up being a series. You meet a few (4) characters who you really like and get introduced to someone who could be a recurring villain. It’s a good setup.
Who Should Read This One:
-Fans of Holmes books (or the House TV show) who like when a group of brilliant minds make solving a mystery look almost too easy.
My Rating: 4 Stars

Decent mix of mystery cases. One I figured out and one got way too graphic
Definitely needed to suspend disbelief even more than in a normal pi/operative novel

Graphic: Death, Drug abuse, Torture, and Murder

Solved a crime with no explanation of any kind then started name dropping.
