A 3.5⭐️ rating is the only thing I see this book having, not in a bad way but not in a good way.

This book is definitely good and I liked the setting the conflict and the relationship between Molly and Shani but there were parts that just fell flat to me and I didn’t really enjoy. There’s not much of a way to explain it but I didn’t feel and love to the book except watching Molly fall in love with the farm life and the found family aspects and of course parts of the romance was very cute. It just didn’t give me a very big amount of emotions to it and it was just okay, not bad but not great just okay which I think is fine for a simple little 300 page romance book to be. I still enjoyed the book but it didn’t give me the same feel as other books I’ve read.

There’s nothing I’d improve about the book except maybe for the feelings Shani and Molly feel for each other come out later than almost immediately after meeting each other because I am a slow burn girly and I do like it when they don’t immediately have a name for what they feel for the other character.

Had a fun time and would definitely recommend it.

It’s genuinely a great romance book. The characters are amazing and well-rounded and the plot is easy to follow with no plot holes. I just found myself easily frustrated with the main character getting in her own way all the time. It made it more realistic though. One of the only times I would agree with the main character leaving the city to move to the small town to start a new.

Definitely an improvement from the author’s adult debut novel, despite the continued pop culture references.  Very charming, if a little bit rushed at times— would love to read more about the two main characters.
Also, if “write what you know” is relevant to her as an author… I really hope Jennifer Dugan doesn’t talk to her mother.
