I absolutely adored this book! Millie is such an amazing character. I would have loved to be in her sleepover club when I was in high school! I want to put this book into the hands of every teenage girl I know - it's genuine, positive, and has a lot of heart. Millie is an empowering young woman. She helped Callie see the good in herself and is a great role-model for unapologetically being yourself. Can't wait to read more Julie Murphy!
Just as great as the first one, I loved learning to love Callie and continuing to love Millie. Can't wait for Pumpkin'!
I was pretty excited to read this companion novel to Dumplin' - I really enjoyed it and some of the issues I had with it were resolved in the friend group here in Puddin'. It was nice to see those characters again and really fun to follow Millie as well as a new character NOT from that friend group. The relationships were multifaceted and you didn't get just the relationships romantically - there's friends and familial relationships too of all kinds. I love that. It just feels so much more authentic to real life when you have the presence that would exist in the real world! Excited about the third book in this world :)
Puddin' was such a good book! I haven't loved a character so much as Millie in a while. I was able to relate with her a lot. I always try to stay positive and see the best in people, as does Millie. Watching her character development was great. The romance element was enjoyable as well.
Callie's character was interesting to read. I like how her character developed. I've seen the trope of bad girl turned good to often. Callie started out a bad girl and improved slightly. Julie Murphy didn't end the book with Callie being completely opposite from the way she started. It made her realistic.
The overall theme of Puddin' was amazing. It follows with the body positivity I've been fostering lately. I definitely suggest reading Puddin', especially if you enjoyed Dumpin'.

Dance team drama queen + Plus size kind soul + Mean Girls vibes = this book.
It was good. I think it was my least favorite of the "Dumplin" books, but still brought me back to the Southern roots. :)

Well-constructed with so many excellent discussion points. A wonderful follow-up to Dumplin’.
Good characters and positive messages, but not much happened. I still thought it was cute and a great book for girls!
