I did not enjoy the writing style or the characterization. I also don’t mind swearing at all, but it felt overused and gratuitous.

This book is really messy. I can see why people would like this and enjoy it, but it just reads as someone word-vomiting their obsession into a novel. I also don't know that I knew enough about Amy Winehouse to love it enough? It was fine, but I feel like things have to actually happen for me to enjoy a book with an unlikable protagonist.

This entire thing is written in a sort of slam poetry fashion and half of what I read did not make sense to me. I am also not a fan of every other word being a curse word. It completely takes away from the story,

I was immediately drawn in by the frantic, uproarious prose. Distinct, uninhibited voice. But the text mirrors the protaganist’s obsessive, cyclical thinking, which started to drag midway through the book. The protag ranges from unhinged to insightful. Sometimes she’s a nightmare; sometimes she’s so relatable. Very much a novel of ideas and of character.
