Some useful reading here.
As an adult child of a toxic-mother and passive enabling father, some of the scenarios here rang true with me.

I don't think the book itself is a one-stop shop to reclaiming your life, but I think it would be very helpful in tandem with counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy.

There are handy insights and a couple of exercises that are quite cathartic. - I enjoyed writing the "Fairytale" so much that I'm turning this into fully fledged tale about the recovery from a torrid childhood

Again - it won't give you all the answers in order to move on, but it will perhaps help you break the cycle.

There's some useful stuff in here, but you have to wade through a bit of the normcore-of-the-early-00s-ish-ness. It could really benefit from an updated edition.

This book does a fantastic job of helping adult children of toxic parents identify the fact that their parents are, in fact, toxic. Further, the reader walks away a with tangible action items on how to unweave the damage and move forward with their lives. I read it in hopes that it would be of help to me, but found that I am further along in the healing process than I gave myself credit for.

This book changed my life. There are very few books that I can say that of, likely less than I can count on one hand. This is one of them.
