Very characteristic of Junji Ito’s work, although these short stories are a little longer than his typical. Perhaps not my favourite of his work, but still very much a good and spooky read.

I've come to reconsider my belief that Ito is a misogynist for overrepresenting women and girls in horror. If he was portraying men and boys as crazy, delusional, psychotic, or losing their shit in any way, he wouldn't be giving us anything effective or noteworthy for the genre: it would be typical male behavior, just another casual day in a society where men and boys are monstrous and deeply unstable - nothing shocking here.

Classic Junji Ito. Interesting, unique horror plots drawn in a fascinating, grotesque way. Loved it and also it gave me nightmares.
