Fry again does again a great job humanizing Greek mythology. When I read mythology before the behavior of the characters always seemed rather absurd and I had trouble connecting to them, but Fry really manages to construct a world in which all of it makes sense and the protagonists stand out as humans one can commiserate and identify with.

I have really enjoyed the whole 'Mythos' series, and 'Troy' was no exception.
There were some elements of the early chapters that I struggled to keep up with, primarily the set up of the history, context and cast but I gathered enough that when the War began I could pull together the pieces.
Once we were into the chapters detailing the War I was utterly hooked. It was a terrible event described at times with a delicate humor. Well balanced and well told.
