I will just keep on reading the yearly instalment of the Jack Reacher saga. While the last few books mentioned how old he had gotten, there was no such talk in this one. Reacher did what Reacher always does: kick ass for justice. A solid entry. As usual recommended if you've enjoyed the series so far.

Another October, another Reacher story. The style has hardly changed. Same short simple sentences. Don't expect sequence of tenses. Or any other sophisticated language apparati. Same outrageous plot structure. Reacher cometh. He stumbles upon injustice. Fifteen bodies and ten horribly maimed villain's agents later, the justice is served. Depth of characters is razor thin. Familiarity with the topics discussed is laughable. But we are not here for Faulkner - it is exactly that predictability that makes this a comfortable (and somewhat exciting) reading. If you like Reacher series books for what they are, get this one and you won't be disappointed (well, you most likely have gotten it already).

I like Jack Reacher, but this does a disservice. I have read the other reviews. Believe them.

I love a good Jack Reacher story but this just wasn’t as good as usual. I ended up skim reading just to get it over with. Dull story and badly written.

Much better than the previous one, the first by the two brothers. Still, the number of crazies inhabiting small towns in the midwest stretches credulity, and the number of killings is much higher than it was under Lee's reign. Engrossing enough that I'll try the next one...
