This story had me swooning the entire time. The history between Delilah and Macon and how they grow together. And Macon’s package to her after prom?! And his letters?! Had me crying like a baby. It’s always the books that the characters had a rough childhood that get me. And although these two are like oil and fire the sparks are so bright and beautiful.

This book had me at ‘Sebastian York!!’ He is a phenomenal narrator and every book I’ve chosen to listen to that he is narrating, I really enjoy! I chose to read this book and was overjoyed to get the audible also and then realising that Sebastian is narrating Macon Saint, made my day. Now obviously I know that the book must be good for me to enjoy it, but he adds his own magic to them and really brings the character to life. I feel like I can trust the book if he is a narrator for it. Together, the narrators did a great job.

I enjoy a little angst and ‘enemy to lovers,’ is consistently a trope that I love. Greatly written! I give this book 3.5 stars and I look forward to reading more from this author.

This was an amazing, heartfelt enemies-to-lovers romance.

It was gripping, intense, sad and beautiful all at the same time.

Thanks for the review Isabella R.- I wouldn't have picked this up without it, and its a great story.

Bullies are horrible but how Macon grew up and atoned for his sins was a fun journey. It was a bit thin that Delilah offered herself and her services for her sister but it worked. They had a strong history and chemistry that made for snappy dialogue.

And we had no clue that the inner voice of Macon was really holding back his inner craving for Del. And the box and letters, swoon! They had a lot to over come in this story but no cheating or delayed histrionics.

Sam was a messed up piece of work, and you are not left with a clear picture of whether or not Sam and Macon had been lovers, just that they used each other. We assume they had? But Delilah doesn't dwell on it (I would have). Sex with your sister is a hard pass for me.
