I had a really good time with this. It doesnt necessarily add anything new to the possession genre, which is why I didn't give it a higher score, but I'd still recommend it if youre looking for a quick horror novel
I picked this up in hopes it would creep me out or scare the shit out of me, in an attempt to switch things up from my regular cycle of memoirs & contemporary, easy to read fiction.
The premise of the book was good, I love a good demon possession, but this just fell so flat.
I wanted to be scared to turn the page, but this had me flying through in hopes it would get better.
This book was like feeling like you’re about to sneeze and as you do the “ahh” it goes away.

Have had this on my to read list for a very long time, so my expectations were probably a bit higher than need be. I enjoyed the book for the most part, but there were a few holes/drawbacks that I feel were overlooked she injured multiple people and never dealt with any consequences, like the woman whose wrist she snapped in the middle of the day on a busy street, or the coworker that she murdered, who was discovered, but since the body was found 2-weeks later the police just said “well we won’t find who did it now” my copy had a typo, while mistakes do happen, kinda surprised to see one slip through with such a short book. I also feel like I didn’t have to think or make any connections, the book essentially tells you what is going to happen at an early stage. I think that it’s still worth reading if you’re a fan of the genre as it’s not a massive time commitment based on its length, but I don’t think it will be the best thing you’ve ever read.
