Finished this one over a long time. I am generally a fan of Seth Godin's approach and this book yet again did not disappoint. Anyone who's doing marketing and really wants to understand their customer better should read this one. Surprisingly unrepetitive, but that's common in Seth's books :)

Seth Godin’s blog is very popular with many people I respect, so I gave the book a try. There are lots of good ideas in the book for creating and promoting a business, and finding the people who will want your product or service. He argues that you can’t sell to everyone; you are going to sell to a tribe that shares your values.
The writing style of his short, thought provoking, sometimes scattershot blog entries has been imported without modification into a fairly long book, however, so after a while I found it tough going.
Probably the most important takeaway I got was that SEO is a way for Google and Facebook to make money, not necessarily for the would be entrepreneur.

I dropped it at pg 138. This book felt like a grandpa's ramblings and insistence on what they think is marketing. There are some nuggets of insights but those insights could be gleaned and found through internet essays, twitter threads and substack. I would not recommend readers to pick up this book.

Solid and clear instruction with great examples. Nothing earth shattering for someone in the industry but solid fundamentals and some great prompts to re-organize and configure your thinking and the direction/motivations you're conveying to your audience.

They say if you can't explain something simply you don't understand it well enough. As usual Gidin delivers a message simply and entertainingly. This is an interesting read whether marketing is your core career or not.
Well worth reading for anyone involved in business.

This was an interesting take on Marketing. Godin takes the approach that Marketing can be noble and have make a change in the world - I like this perspective. Obviously not all marketers think that way, but it would be nice if more did.
