I didn't know what to expect from this book. It was so interesting and  insightful.

Over the course of Trevor reading his book, I felt I grew close to him. I feel like I know him. I'm not a fan of memoirs as a rule, but I'm thinking that's a big goal of them.

One little thing - the end left me worried as hell for the safety of a few people. That seemed like a big thread to dangle.

Best book of 2018
Loved his view on domestic abuse and its effect on children. His relationship with his mom is amazing, I want that for my kids. New celebrity crush for sure!

“for many young men in South Africa’s townships, freedom looks like this: Every morning they wake up, maybe their parents go to work or maybe not. Then they go outside and chill on the corner the whole day, talking shit. They’re free, they’ve been taught how to fish, but no one will give them a fishing rod”
