A little dated, but the principles are sound and still relevant. Actually quite fun to read this as a time capsule to see what design issues the past had.
Equal parts nostalgic and horrifying due to the way phones, computers and "smart" household appliances have evolved since this book was written. And somehow we are still dealing with poorly designed light switches, doors and faucets. A very interesting read in any case.
Would highly recommend, even if you have no interest in design. Makes you think just a little bit deeper about your day to day life.
A classic on design. Surprisingly still applicable to most of our daily lives and mechanical encounters.

Don Norman is my kind of crank and i've found myself considering the design stages of basically every object i've encountered since starting this book.. that said, some of his suggestions jump the gap between "simple user interface" and "insanely bad opsec"
This was on my recommended reading list from a UX mentor. When I first got the book, I was nervous it would be too dry and academic to really enjoy, but when I actually sat down to read it, I found it to be an enjoyable and interesting read, giving me a lot of insight into the many ways you can think about design and apply it.
