I’ve read this before - the story, all of it, is just like the rest. I knew immediately who the killer is - it’s always the same. If I had paid for this book, I would be writing a furious letter to the publisher demanding my money back and to every positive published reviewer stating their credibility is gone. UGH

This is the perfect read for a snowy day! A tech company’s employees go on a retreat to a chalet in the French Alps. The story is told in two alternating POVs with Erin, the chalet host, and Liz, an ex-employee, but small shareholder. The employees decide to go skiing the first morning, but come back missing one person. Then, an avalanche shuts everyone in at the chalet. They lose power, and thus Wi-Fi. Also, the landline no longer works. The next day, an employee is found dead. Now, everyone is getting worried who the killer is, as it must be one of the people stuck at the chalet. A really fun locked-room mystery that kept me guessing who the killer is. This book kept me engaged from beginning to end.

Ruth Ware is definitely my favourite thriller author. Such good stories.
Lordt she really likes highly anxious & twitchy main characters, doesn’t she
my entry way to Ruth Ware- this book is so good. I figured it out by the end, but still couldn’t put it down. The chase scene at the end still lives in my head
Who doesn’t love a locked room mystery? Reminiscent of an Agatha Christie book but Certainly not as well written. I gave this book four stars because it kept me intrigued but there were too many scenes that went on way too long. The killer was way too obvious and there wasn’t too many surprises.
