Such a thoughtful and engaging deep dive into the ongoing effects of genocide and residential schools on a community. This was so important to read as an educator especially.

This was an absolutely phenomenal book! Well-researched and written in a way to not make readers feel stupid for what they don't know. I'm so happy that I read this!

This book provides an easily understandable description of the history of unfairness to Indigenous people as it points out the disparity between Government treatment of two populations only a few kilometers from each other. The authors condensed a huge amount of research into a very relatable story. This book has given me so much history and context regarding the current barriers that Indigenous communities face. I also appreciate that the authors present a way forward. This will be a highly recommended read from now on for me.
