'Mirror, Mirror' started out to be what I thought would be a brilliant twist on Snow White without the dwarves. The book on its own is a perfectly fine piece of fiction and yet it seems that right before the end of the book, the author rushed the story along and just used her notes as the last part of the story. I feel that perhaps the author was being rushed near the end as the queen and her death seemed very rushed and not too well thought out.
Overall, it is a good piece of writing apart from the rushed end.

This is actually the original edition published in 2005. I discovered today that it is being re-issued as Beauty under the name Nancy Ohlin.

The new version is slightly longer too so I'm assuming it's been reworked. I preordered the new edition without even being aware that I had the original out from the library. It doesn't really seem to be mentioned anywhere so if you've read Beauty/Mirror Mirror be aware that they are (almost) the same book.
