Borrowed from KU.

An enjoyable story, but still pretty simplistic in the character development outside of Ben and Liam. The side-characters were mostly one-note, though the shortness of the graphic novel didn't help that at only 160 pages. It was nice to see Ben develop as the story went on, and the last page of the main story was pretty darn cute.

This graphic novel is cute yet entertaining. What I love about this book is... this book can give motivation to someone who just finished college to don't give up if you have a dream to know what's worth to begin with yourself; looking for job that suitable to your own passion to make you happy.

A short but thoroughly enjoyable graphic novel about one young man looking for his path after college & maybe even a little romance too. The chef was hilarious & I loved his silly little pig, Winston. The only reason I gave this a 4 and not a 5 is because the love interest's name is Liam and my kid's name is Liam so it kinda squicked me out even though there's nothing sexually explicit in this graphic novel. The romance is very charming though & I liked the art a lot, specifically the coloring.

chef's kiss is a cute, lighthearted read whose protagonist's post-college struggles are wildly relatable, though i wish the ending was less abrupt.

i rly like how integral a part cooking and food play in the story, though i was initially surprised i shouldnt have been considering the title. the cooking scenes are relaxing, healing, fun, and eye-opening esp for a cooking novice like me; all the chemistry and innovation! and that mouth-watering art doesnt help quench my hunger at all.

the book's also quite funny, esp watson + his antics, no-nonsense chef davis, and ben's monologues. another thing i particularly enjoy is ben's and his friends' post-college struggles/adventures; theyre painfully relatable and the fear, uncertainty, panic, yet joy amidst it all are captured faithfully here.

unfortunately, i think like the story and characters could be developed even further. liam's characterization, for instance, feels flat and one-dimensional; we dont learn too much abt him and while he's def an eye-candy, i wish more basis was provided why he falls for ben and vice-versa.

some story decisions also seem a lil weird to me, how the author chooses to focus on certain less important scenes but forgoes other more significant ones, like the yoga over ben's and liam's coffee meets. the ending also seems too abrupt, like bro it's literally one page of the otp kissing and thats it. i wish there was more postscript on ben officially working full-time in the resto, maybe an actual convo w/ his parents, and at least one more scene of him and liam tgt.

this is a graphic novel w/ rly nice, detailed art and a relatable story of finding oneself outside parental or pre-circumscribed lines, but it wouldve benefited from longer length to develop some of the characters and the story even further.

This was really cute!!! I really enjoyed it and I was kinda worried cause someone Id heard talk about it thought it was too short and I believe disliked it because of that which I definitely understand and tho I do kinda wish we got more of the romantic subplot at the end I really enjoyed it and it was just adorableee
