I loved the set up of the book. The podcast the present crime the past murder all weaved together. The audio was good as the podcast sounded real. The only thing that bothered me was there was a lot of rape. As I try not to read books with this in them I was hooked before I knew it was in there. I did skip the detailed chapters but still bothered me

"To tell you the truth, I don't get how we can almost unanimously agree that murder is wrong, yet when it comes to rape, some people still see shades of gray." (pg 333)

This.

Be prepared to feel - anger, elation, frustration, satisfaction, disappointment - all the emotions.

But this story is important. It brings to light so many treacherous things in our judicial system, as well as our society at large.

PSA: if you see something, say something.

Good book, but it wasn’t as suspenseful as I would have liked and seemed to end rather ubruptly.

I liked the way the crimes were revealed. it was never direct, always under another layer or two. I was glued to the pages till near the end. At the end it seemed like a cartoonish wrap up, everything fell into place too perfectly. I was also so frustrated with the Rachel and Hannah characters, One took so many chances one was just ridiculous with the letters and the distancing. It felt like such a let down after all the drama and waiting.
I'm not sure if I'd read more from this author her style may just not be for me

Loved the podcast element! It was such a difficult book to read at times but it was one of those books that you have to read in one sitting!
