Even though this isn't a super long story, there is great character development and growth!

Kyle and Bohdan already have an established relationship, but Bohdan has a shot at an Olympic gold metal and due to past influences, decides to keep his relationship with Kyle a secret. Like anyone who's relationship is hidden and they are not allowed to be who they are, Kyle chafes at not having a open relationship. But throughout the story, Kyle supports Bohdan as Bohdan realizes who in is life is important. It felt as though Kyle and Bohdan belonged together and I was rooting for them through the entire book. I loved it!

Reading this story felt like watching the Olympic event in question - my body started out tense and anticipatory, then moved to chills as the drama built, and then finally to joy and elation as I got the happily ever after I was craving. Kudos to Albert for pulling so much emotion from me in so few pages.

I really enjoyed this quick story. I wish it had been longer but that is just because I didn't want it to end. I really love Albert's stories and writing style.

Fine short story, written originally for 2012 Olympics? It was fine, not enough to get you invested but was good enough. About swimmer going for gold Bohdan and his long term boyfriend Kyle who he keeps secret and he is publicly in the closet, while rumors are already around the Olympics circle. It's basically just Bohdan coming to terms with going public in the media while winning gold at London, and Kyle finally putting his foot down and also in the end getting what he deserves from his partner. Even a shorter time of less than ten years can make a great deal of difference with social strides because LGBT Olympians, while I'm sure they don't have an easy time of it, are already out and more normalized now.
