"You are captain of the sunshine court. In no universe could you be anyone's villain."

Nora Sakavic is back with an unexpected addition to the AFTG series and it is just as much a wild ride as the other books. With a larger cast of characters and multiple POVs, she expands this world and further explores characters we only got glimpses of previously. I was hooked on every word and refused to put the book down until I was finished.

This book, like all of the other All for the Game books, should be terrible. Still, The Sunshine Court, like all of the other AFTG books, uses an excessively unbelievable plot involving mafias and hockey-lacrosse to create a very realistic portrayal of trauma and healing. I saw parts of myself in Jean that I rarely see accurately represented in media - a gift that made me feel very seen. I cannot wait for the next book.

Also, normally books with this many horrible things happening read as trauma porn, which is something that I decidedly do not enjoy reading and find to be morally grotesque. The Sunshine Court is a notable and important exception.
