i rly enjoyed this i do think however that the formatting made it so there are moments that are almost lost? a lot of parts were talked in the next time, for example there would be a present day where there is a build up to something, a jump to back then, and back to present day where the thing being built up already happened. it wasn’t enough to hinder my enjoyment but i do wish some of those moments had been included.

_______
 Notes
_______

Lo blinks something back, his eyes reddened, and so softly, so quietly, he tells me, "I'm not going to let them hurt you anymore."
His first instinct is to protect me. No hesitation, no second thought that maybe I don't deserve protection.

"You'll be okay, he breathes. "You won't see it today, maybe not even tomorrow, but one day, you'll wake up and you'll want to live."

Lo says deeply, "One day at a time. Can you do that with me?"
He's not just saying one day at a time. It's one day at a time with him.
With someone.
Not alone.
Okay.
Okay.

Lo notices the laptop screen. "Is that my sister?" Lo asks me, brows raised.
"I'm here in the...not-so-flesh," I say.
"Just a bunch of ones and zeroes,' Garrison adds, and while standing behind Lo, my boyfriend winks at me. It's sexy enough that I blush. Lo frowns and looks over his shoulder. "Are you two flirting in nerd?"

"He's a good person."

Beneath what happened. Beneath his bad choices. He's a good person. I hope one day he can see this too.

"You could be quiet the whole day too, and that'd be okay. I just like being with you."

Garrison retracts his arm, but we're still breathlessly close. "I understand what it's like to be pushed out of personal boundaries, and I wouldn't do that to someone. I'm not gonna do that to you, ever."

My lips slowly rise. Not much can beat these quiet moments with Garrison Abbey. Sharing company and doing normal everyday things together.

"There are times during the day that I think maybe it's my fault I didn't try harder for a better relationship with my brothers. Because it's easier thinking you had some control in the situation. When in reality, there's nothing you or I could do to repair what was already fucking gone. They're gone, Willow. And we have to be okay with that."

"I deserve you," I snap at him. Pain in my chest radiates everywhere, clawing down my skin, but I'm holding onto his waist now, not letting go. "When will you start believing that?"
He shakes his head, eyes bloodshot. "I don't know." He removes one of his hands from my body to push away the longer strands of hair that've fallen in his eyes. "Maybe I never will,
and then what?"
"Then I'll keep reminding you," I say, confident about this future.
He laughs. "Every day? Sounds fucking exhausting for you."
He stares me down, straight in the eyes with this raw plea like just let me go. For your own sake.
I won't let him push me away.

"You are special to me, Garrison. How can you not see that? It's not just the touching. It's who you are. Every part of you, even the parts you hate. I love those, too."

"I thought the universe was trying to tell me something," I say to her. "Getting sick before seeing you."
"Yeah?" she frowns. "Like what?"
"That we're not meant to be together," I laugh, a dry laugh.
"And I was ready to choke the universe out to let me get to you."

Guilt has been hammering me ever since Willow left the room. No..it's been that way since the lamp crash. No, since I was born.

"Why are you staring at me like that?"
"Because I love you, Willow Hale. You're the greatest friend I've ever had, the most beautiful heart I've ever felt, and every morning I wake up, I can only hope to wake to you. Thinking of a single day without you in my life is physical torture." He takes my other hand, careful not to knock over the candle. "There was a time where I didn't even want to live till tomorrow, and now I don't ever want this life with you to end."

It took work to get here, but I know the first step was always belief.
Belief that I could.
Belief that I should.
And yeah...I'm happy I did.

Happiness, it never felt in reach. But I woke up today, and I love who I am. And I'm forever in love with the girl who fell asleep next to me.

Distance, time, miles and hours are intangible, metaphysical things, all woven and jumbled in an invisible tapestry, and like my favorite comic books, the beginning is really the end and the end is just the beginning.

I. LOVE. THEM. SO. MUCH!!!

It’s mind boggling that all of these characters aren’t real. They are real to me!
