En väldigt sorglig berättelse om Palestinas 1900-talshistoria, berättad genom en familjs livsöde. Oerhört gripande och fängslande, men alldeles för sorgligt för mig egentligen!

A beautiful, heartbreaking novel. Eloquently written and eye opening to the situation in Palestine and Israel. Good character development and growth throughout the story.
One of the few times I have been emotionally wrecked by a book. A must read to anyone wanting to dive deeper into the situation in Palestine along with the origins.
This book has left me speechless, emotional, and angry for the people of Palestine. I have been wanting to become more informed about the atrocious situation that has been forced upon Palestinians. However, I did not expect this book to break me in the process.

A longitudinal, multigenerational (fictional) story of a Palestinian family affected by early Israeli-Palestinian conflicts. It was a pleasantly educational read that made me appreciate how books make more difficult topics like history and politics emotionally and intellectually accessible for readers like me. It was a truly heartbreaking story of unimaginable cruelties which was quite an intense read at times, though beautifully written.

The writing is beautiful. The topic is gut wrenching. The politics are completely one sided, which bothered me.
Heart breaking and beautiful. There is so much we don’t know or understand in America. We aren’t lucky, we’re blind. Free Palestine. End the occupation.
