i loved this so much! ive put off reading this story for so long now because i typically hate rejected mates, im not trying to dwell in those shi**y feelings while im reading, but this doesnt really dwell on it at all. i love how much of a smarta** mera is and i seriously cant wait to see how much of a bada** she becomes. shadows also got the perfect amount of brooding and sass. perfect. i want those walls to get shattered and i cant wait to watch mera do it.
only thing is that i feel like some things could have been said or described a little bit better, maybe not even better just worded differently. some of it’s probably for the mystery but it was sometimes hard to follow and hard to picture. but that could also be my adhd, who knows

Shadow beast shifters is hilarious. Mera’s inner dialogue had me laughing out loud. She’s great at looking on the bright side of things after being dealt a shitty hand early in life. Centered around the Library of Knowledge, with information and doors to all 11 realms in the world, it kind of gave me beauty and the best vibes. Rejected mates, virgin, slow burn, alpha ahole, witty FMC.

Despite the cover, this book is not very steamy. It had good wold building and I enjoyed it. I’ll be reading the next one

I don’t know what I was expecting when I picked this book up, but it wasn’t this. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad thing, just that it’s much sillier than I expected it to be, and that’s not what I’m in the mood to read right now.
