Can’t say enough good things about this series. So we’ll written and I loved every minute of it. The audiobook was phenomenal and I read the books some as well. Earns a place in my top 5 series of all time. Thank you Jay Kristoff for showing us Mia and for taking us along for the ride. Never flinch. Never fear. And never, ever forget.
Absolutely fabulous. It culminates into the perfect ending. I had not experienced the author Jay Kristoff or audio performer Holter Graham before but needless to say I am now a big fan. This series should be the high bar for grimdark or assassin style fantasy series. Both written and performed.

Het enige positieve dat ik hier kan schrijven, is dat het voorbij is. De enige reden waarom ik dit heb uitgelezen, was omdat ik nog nooit een boek aan de kant heb gelegd zonder volledig alle tekst te absorberen. Blijkbaar zien veel mensen er iets in dat mij te boven gaat, want het boek heeft een erg hoge rating, maar het was duidelijk niet aan mij besteed.

I was expecting something more from the ending of the series. I really never understood why she liked Ashlignn and fell so bad for Tric. The poor boy gave up his spot by the hearth for this girl and she just shrugs it off and gets together with her murderer. The idea of the the chronicles being in the book was interesting and well done. I enjoyed the footnotes throughout the series.

Oh my poor heart! You know from the beginning of this series what the end will be, but the how of it all really drags you through an emotional ringer. I grew to love so many of these characters and wanted them all to have happy endings, even though I suspected a large number of them wouldn’t make it through. Actually, more did than I expected. Phew. This was a satisfying, adventurous, fun conclusion to the series.
Sometimes along the way I felt like the books were slow or I just grew too frustrated with Mia. But I’m glad I stuck it out. These books just kept throwing surprised at us and it was such a fun read, even if my emotions feel a bit bruised now. Just have Kleenexes nearby for the last quarter or so of the book.

The last installment in the Mia Corvere saga. I loved it! I hated it! I laughed. I yelled. I was happy. I was irate. This is a series I absolutely LOVE and HATE. And the conclusion to the trilogy did not disappoint. I just wish her love story turned out differently . . . either way. Loved the book.
