Diddy reference😬😬.

Honestly this is my least favorite of all of painters books. I’ve always loved how mindless and quick they can be, but this one kind of sucked. This one is also the one that made me realize that I can’t recall a single character of hers that isn’t white.
Overall I kind of hated these characters and I feel like they didn’t grow at all. I mean Jack started the book trying to force an engagement where he didn’t really want it,
then ended the book proposing after what seems like three months? I mean on the same page she learned his full name and he talked about the ring he had waiting.
And also, the breakup/fight in the last 30 pages of the book was so stupid and useless. It just cemented the idea to me that this couple absolutely broke up after the end of this book. I just feel like they were both to emotionally immature and they had a fun, flirty relationship but there is no way they were actually in love with each other.

Like I said I usually love the mindless rom com vibes of painters books, but I just feel like this one is TOO mindless.

While it was fun to learn more about Jack after his smaller role in Mr. Wrong Number, this one didn’t do it for me. I liked the other better and this was just there.

Perfect apart from them literally mentioning it was a one bed trope

You’re telling me, you are trying to propose to this girl and in the last 2 pages of the book she’s just NOW finding out your name is Jackson Alan? Ridiculous.

Overall though I had a good time, definitely recommend. Spice scenes weren’t the best but it was defa fun fast read.
