This book (my fourth book by Lynn Painter) really solidified that it wasn’t just a one off, but I just genuinely do not like Lynn Painter’s books.
After meeting at Jack's sister's wedding where Hallie was bartending, an epic one-night stand turned swipe on a dating app turns this unlikely pair into friends deciding to be each other's wingman on the horrid dates they go on (relatable). And the first person to find their person "wins."
The Love Wager was a very quick read but had me smiling throughout. It gave me the warm and fuzzies and was exactly what I needed. Make sure you read Mr. Wrong Number first as this is connected and might ruin some of the plot of the first novel.
A solid 4 stars. I recommend!

I liked this one better than the first book! This story revolves around Olivia’s brother, Jack, and the part-time bartender he meets at her wedding. Jack and Hallie have good/instant chemistry and it is obvious from the get-go that these two are end game, but Hallie was burned by a long term relationship and Jack rushed into his last relationship—so they decide to be each other’s wingperson. A good rom com and easy end-of-summer read!

why is this the second book in a row that has mentioned Taylor Swift? anyways, this book was annoying. On the positive side, some moments were cute and sometimes the banter was good. It was funny sometimes, as it did make me laugh a little. The negatives outweigh it tho. First of all, why does he call her Tiny Bartender or TB for short. That’s the worst nickname i’ve ever read. Second of all, I couldn’t get over the fact that he was sabotaging her relationship. It just made me dislike him because it was a highkey a red flag. Third of all, the miscommunication my god. Can you both just sit down and talk like actual adults please? Like how could they not tell they were having feelings for each other after weekend of “fake dating”. This book was predictable and bad and I hope I find a good book soon before I loose my mind.

I’m sorry Lynn, this one didn’t hit for me. It might for others but here are my thoughts:
Oof, bleh, ugh
