Very informative and I’m glad I did listen to it. Her story was very sad but she managed to overcome everything and make something better for herself

As the title suggests, "I'm Glad My Mom Died" is a heartbreaking and honest memoir by Jeanette McCurdy about her tumultuous relationship with her overbearing mother and her struggles as a former child actor. Throughout the book, McCurdy recounts in vivid detail the abusive and manipulative behavior of her mother, who pushed her into acting at a young age and subjected her to extreme dieting, makeovers, and invasion of privacy.

Despite her success on Nickelodeon's hit series iCarly and Sam & Cat, McCurdy's life was plagued by anxiety, self-loathing, and addiction. Her mother's death from cancer, while traumatic, also gave McCurdy the freedom to finally break away from her mother's control and embark on a journey of self-discovery and recovery.

McCurdy's writing is raw and unapologetic, providing an unfiltered glimpse into the dark side of the entertainment industry and the toll it takes on child actors. She balances the heavy subject matter with moments of humor and lightness, demonstrating her resilience and the power of her own will to overcome her struggles.

Overall, "I'm Glad My Mom Died" is a powerful and poignant memoir that sheds light on the damaging effects of parental abuse and the importance of self-care and self-love. McCurdy's storytelling is captivating, and her courage in sharing her story is both admirable and inspiring. I truly hope she continues to write, as her desire to create was evident in how well written this memoir was, and her mention of creating a screenplay at a very young age was indicative of this as well. Jeannette, if you write other stories, I'll be sure to read them. Wishing you the happiest life.
