3.5 rounded down to 3
This book certainly has it all for fans of Modglin and domestic drama. There is a suspicious photo found on husband's phone by wife. He has cheated before. She confronts him. He denies it. She somehow finds out who the woman is and decides to stalk her/learn more about her and try to catch them in the act.
That is certainly the formula for these kinds of stories, but then Modglin throws in some twists that you don't see coming! It is good, an engrossing read, but I just thought the twists were a bit OTT for me and thus the round down to 3 from 3.5. I still highly rate this author and enjoy her works. This was just not my favorite.

Women have come such a long way,, except in a lot of these stories. The main character aggravated me so much. She's been married to a man for 3 years, he leaves the house every weekend to go and stay with his parents to help out because his mom is sick. She's never met his parents. Not once did she ever go with him to stay at the parents house. They have jobs, but are always broke, he pays half the bills and they have separate bank accounts that she's never seen. None of this was suspicious though. It was seeing a picture in his phone that made her believe he was cheating AGAIN! So she finds the mistress, gets a job where she works and they find out each of them were married to the same man and both are pregnant. They plot to kill him, because that was their only choice in the end.
This ending was so outlandish and ridiculous. Perfect Lifetime movie, terrible book.

I thought I knew where this was going... and I was wrong!
Highly recommend! Finished in one sitting. Full of twists that you won't see coming.
Such a mediocre thriller. I kept reading because I wanted to know what was gonna happen. As short as this book is, it felt very long. The payoff wasn’t great. I love a shocking over the top twist and this didn’t even feel like a twist to me.

This was a fast paced and entertaining domestic thriller. I definitely feel that the plot is something that happens in real life. At times, I thought Edith was crazy and delusional, and at times I was right there agreeing with her. The same with Joe. I kept flip flopping on who and what I believed the entire way through. The ending was a bit outlandish, but it was still good and full of twists. The twists somewhat slapped you in your face to the point of whiplash at the end, but I still enjoyed this novel.
