I was pretty excited for this book. While i thought it was good. I kind of wanted more from it. I thought it was going to go a different direction but that’s not where it went. I’m kind of glad it didn’t but still would have been nice. I absolutely loved the writing style and just how this authors books read like a lovely drama tv show. She never fails to amaze me with her books.

I received this for free from NetGalley on a read and review basis. All opinions are my own.

2.5? 3? I dunno. There was no real depth to the story or characters. This was my first Modglin book and probably won't be my last. I'll give her another shot. Maybe this just wasn't the book for me?

Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Loveable characters: No
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

I usually love a domestic thriller but wasn’t a fan of Tell Me the Truth. The plot had merit, the pacing was good, and the author did a good job of making me feel low-key crazy and personally gaslit by the main character’s cheating husband. But those positives were far outweighed by the negatives. The ending was unrealistic and too tidy, the characters were one-dimensional, and the writing felt amateurish. I think that with the right editor, I would have enjoyed this book a lot more, but alas. I am annoyed.

A new Kiersten Modglin the domestic thriller queen. i thought this one was fine nothing new. I liked the ending enough not to give it a 2 star because im sick of this plot but I picked it up thinking she'd do something different with the story.
