I very much enjoyed this book. The romance wasn’t as fleshed out as I like, but I could see them being drawn together. It felt natural. The mystery was fantastic. Interesting use of magic, and world building magic. All in all I very much enjoyed reading this book.

The novella length sacrifices a lot of character development in favor of plot plot plot, but this is still a lot of fun (though pretty dark). Gaslamp fantasy is a relatively new discovery for me, and turns out it is extremely my vibe. Strongly recommend checking out content warnings!
