Quando troverò un libro scritto dalla Armentrout o dal suo alias, scritto male penso che sarà il giorno in cui smetterò di leggere i suoi libri. Fin'ora non è successo e anche questa saga si preannuncia davvero bella, ben studiata e con colpi di scena continui... inutile dire che mi aspettavo il cliffhanger da un minuto all'altro ed eccolo... spiazzante e meraviglioso... ovviamente #teamroth always!
I was NOT expecting the direction this story went when I borrowed it based on the cover. Lol. I was expecting a steamy, summer beach love story type thing, but instead I got gargoyles and demons. SOLD! It was even better. 4 stars.

It was fine. A standard YA fantasy romance novel that will do the job if that's what you're looking for.
Overall, I felt a bit unsatisfied with my experience reading this book. Here is a short list of the elements of the book I didn't like:
- The characters were a bit one dimensional.
- There were secrets mainly for the sake of a shocking reveal.
- A love triangle (I don't like love triangles in general).
- The best friend was a bit hard to handle with her constant sex-fiending dialogue.
- The reveal of the bad guy at the end didn't have proper buildup.
- The deus ex machina at the end, as well as a hint for another deus ex machina in the next book.
There were a few cheesy/cute lines that I enjoyed through the book, but they were few and far between. If you're looking for a light steamy YA romance, then this might be for you.

Protože jsem se zamilovala do série Z krve a popela od Jennifer L. Armentrout a mám rozečtené její romantické knihy, které vyšly u Baronetu, musela jsem si pořídit i Polibek bez duše.
První díl Dark Elements sice není moc originální, ale já to přečetla jedním dechem a hodně mě to bavilo. Hlavně teda démon Roth s hadem Bambi. Sice jsem zvraty tušila ještě předtím, než se staly, ale vůbec mi to ten zážitek ze čtení nezkazilo.
Četlo se to skvěle, ale to platí u všech knih od autorky. Vsadím se, že do Rotha se zamilujete a upřímně jsem sympatizovala i se Zaynem. Proti tomuhle milostnému trojúhelníku nic nemám a myslím, že se povedl. Nejmíň jsem paradoxně měla ráda hlavní hrdinku. Layla mi v první polovině moc nesedla, ale postupně se zlepšovala a pracovala na sobě, samozřejmě k lepšímu.
Našlo se něco málo, co mi trochu nedávalo smysl, ale i tak jsem si Polibek bez duše užila.
