This novella reads pleasantly but slips from your mind like the sand of Binti's desert. It's more of a loose collection of cool ideas, somewhat strung together by Binti's journey -- this time not into space but back home, except to find home is maybe as alien as space. What I dislike more and more is the lack of worldbuilding, there is no sense of anything more existing beyond the locations Binti travels to (the alien races just feel like window dressing, really).

No lie I was a bit bored for the intro and kept wondering if things would speed up and thankfully it did. I didn't want it to end and I'm grateful the third book is out.
